One of the natural resources we have is forest. Forest is a vast terrestrial ecosystems and overgrown by trees growing long-lived naturally or deliberately planted.

Forest benefits:
a) as a source of rich biodiversity
b) protection of land from erosion and regulate the water system
c) absorb CO2 and produce O2
d) recreation.

Losses that would arise if conduct destruction of forests are:
a. could be the loss of biodiversity (both animal and plant) because the life is broken
b. erosion will occur (the top layer of soil erosion) and drought
c. surrounding air becomes fresher, less O2 was formed because of the number of plants is reduced.

Some people attempt to conserve forests
a. prevent or reduce the occurrence of forest fires
b. to replant (reforestation) after logging
c. logging is done by selecting an already decent trees felled (selective logging)
d. enactment of regulations that encourage the implementation of forest conservation.

To prevent the extinction of animal or plant is fairly rare, the government is protecting the following objectives:
- Provide an opportunity to breed
- Rigorously monitoring the hunting or taking of animals or plants that are considered endangered in the wild. Examples of protected plants and animals: dragons, tapirs, orangutans, and carrion flower (raflesia arnoldi).
