- Cortex (the outermost)
- Medulla (the center)
- Pelvis (at least in part), in the form of empty space.
On the part of the cortex and medulla, there are about 1 million nephrons, which is the part that plays a role in the formation of urine. After urine is formed, will be accommodated in the pelvis, and then will leave the kidneys through the ureters. Further urine excreted in the short channel called the urethra.
More or less urine formed and released, much influenced by the extent of the water we drink (we drink at least 8 glasses a day or more than 2 liters).
Healthy kidneys can secrete almost all metabolic waste materials, and other chemical substances that are not needed by the body, as long as we drink enough.
Other factors that affect the amount of urine that is nerves, hormones ADH and the many mineral salts that must be removed.
The characteristics of normal urine:
- Averaging 1-2 liters per day, clear pale orange color with no precipitate
- It smells sharp
- The composition is 96% water and 4% consists of urea and other metabolic residue.
