Implementation of protection in international trade have several forms, namely:a. Tariffs or customs dutieshigh import duties imposed on imports causing prices of imported goods in the domestic market increased. This resulted in the purchase of consumers on imported goods is reduced and switched to local products, thereby increasing national production. In addition, import duties may fill state coffers. There are three kinds of determination of tariff, or import duties, namely:- Export duties, taxes or duties are imposed on goods transported to another country.- Customs transit, is a tax or duty charged on goods passing through the borders of a country with the ultimate goal of the goods of other countries.- Import duties, taxes or duties are imposed on goods entering the country.
b. Import quotas (restrictions)government set a maximum amount of certain goods that can be imported. With a limited number of goods imported into the country, the domestic industry is expected to increase. With the import quota, import patterns can always be reviewed and modified as necessary development in the country.
c. Import banThere are times when for some reason. Both economically and politically, imported faucets are closed. This can impact on decreasing the number of goods in the market, prices rise and domestic production increases.
d. Subsidysubsidy is permanent assistance from the government, which is realized in the form of money, labor or equipment. On the one hand it reduces government income subsidies, but on the other hand can stimulate domestic producers to increase production.
e. Dumpingdumping is selling goods cheaper abroad than at home. Dumping initiated by Japan aims to expand exports. How dumping is often viewed as an internationally unpopular cause indicates monopoly power in the country is greater than abroad and there is a strong enough resistance so that domestic consumers do not buy goods from abroad.
